Financial Accountant with a minimum of 3-5 years experience is required for a large company based in Durban (KZN)



  • • BCom Accounting – Essential
    • BCom Honours in Accounting
  • • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing and/or retail
    • Up to 5 years’ Accounting experience
  • Expert application of an advanced Microsoft program
    • Computer literacy
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Problem solving and data analysis
    • Writing and reporting skills



Reporting to the Financial Manager, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for:
• Compiling monthly financial reports
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
• Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
• Implement and maintain internal controls
• Prepare monthly wage/salary/contractors payroll journals
• Compilation of loan schedules, including interest calculations and balance confirmations
• Ensure effective supplier and internal client query resolution and liaison
• Prepare, examine, or analyse accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Prepare the report to management regarding the finances of establishment
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
• Compute taxes owed and prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements
• Maintain or examine all statutory information (i.e. VAT, PAYE)
• Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses or individuals
• Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice
• Directing and managing employees within the financial environment to ensure system and data accuracy to enable the delivery of valid, accurate and complete Management accounts
• Management of the General Ledger, Cash book, local creditors and Debtors using the prescribed accounting package
• Administer online banking and ensure accurate payments
• Ad hoc customer Invoicing
