Senior Buyer with 4-5 years purchasing experience is required for a large technoloy company based in JHB North.

 

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Procurement diploma/B-Tech

Specific Skills (Technical):

  • 4-6 years purchasing / admin experience essential
  • 2-years people management experience essential
  • PC literacy – essential Microsoft office
  • Basic financial understanding
  • Ability to understand and follow costing analysis

The successfulapplicant must:

  • Have excellent interaction skills – both internal and external
  • Be up to date with current Procurement trends
  • Have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have strong planning, organizing and time management skills

 A copy of the certificates for Matric and all other qualifications are required along with the CV on application.

 

Duties:

  • Set and implement Policy and Procedures of Central Procurement
  • Evaluate Procurement requirements to ensure effective cost and practical solutions
  • Responsible for selecting and negotiating with approved venders and placing purchase orders in response to product, materials, services and supply requirements for Business Units within the Group
  • Constant review of supplier database to ensure integrity of suppliers (pricing and ethics
  • Innovative solutions to be presented to Senior ManagementCost/budget control on a group basis
  • Assist with implementation of new projects and effectiveness of current projects
  • Ensure the department operates within the financial budget constraints
  • Effective management of department to ensure staff if suitably motivated and company ethics are adopted
  • Constant review of Procurement Department in conjunction with Senior Management
  • Ensure accuracy of reports to Senior Management
